NOTE: This product is only compatible with new-construction recessed can fixtures (up to 6" wide) that are supported by screwing or nailing the fixture's frame/housing to the ceiling joists. In comparison with the housing for a remodel recessed can fixture that is typically supported by pushing metal clips through the housing onto the top of the ceiling—the drywall or plaster. Canopy (ceiling plate) is 8.25" wide

I have been searching for a way to convert the can lights above our island into pendant lights without the cost of hiring an electrician to rewire. These lights do the job perfectly! We loved them so much we bought another for over our kitchen sink. I installed them myself in 5 minutes. Customer service was amazing as well - I emailed a question about my order on a Saturday and received a response back within minutes. My only critique is that it's a little tricky to get the lights exactly level if you are hanging two next to each other on a sloped ceiling.
